10 Colorful Winter Activities for Kids

Children love snow! But you know, color-wise it’s a bit boring, isn’t it – white (oh cool white) is everywhere you look so it might be a great time to bring a little color into this season!

There are so many fun things you can do with your kids and here are some super fun and colorful winter activities for kids (and big kids)!

Super fun colorful winter activities kids can try this year

1. Building a regular snowman is fine, but why not create an army of little painted snowmen? A fun snow painting activity from Easy Peasy and Fun!

2. White here, white there, snow everywhere! Add some color and create colorful ice sculptures (by Happy Hooligans).

3. I’m a sucker for watercolor so Artful Parent’s The Science of Watercolor with Watercolor is a must!

4. How to create colorful ice cubes? The pure joy of House in the Woods.

5. Did you know you can use silicone baking molds for more than just baking – here’s a great idea from Frugal Edmonton Mama.

6. Let’s mix in some science – this erupting snow volcano by Science Sparks is absolutely awesome.

7. If you’re like me and can’t wait for the temperature to rise, make sure your kids make rainbows in the snow (because I can teach my kids).

8. Playing with salt and ice is fun and educational – check out this salt and ice activity from Happy Hooligans.

9. This is another favorite and last year we made it as a decoration to put in front of the house to create colorful ice balls like Queen Vanna Creations did.

10. Last but not least, this was such a fun project that I’m really looking forward to more snow! Make the snow glow! (by Simple Joys for Kids).

There! Hope these fun activities bring joy (and color) as you do them!
