Build a Bee Puppet Craft Template

Spring gives birth to the most hardworking bugs – bees! Let your kids appreciate these busy bugs by creating a bee puppet craft using our handy printable template. These are super easy to make and open the door to imaginative play.

Pair them with our other bug puppets and watch your children immerse themselves in dramatic play.

This is a great spring craft for the classroom because it doesn’t require much preparation and the puppets have simple instructions printed on the paper.

Why just create bees when ladybugs and butterflies can join in the fun!

How to assemble the bee puppet construction template

What you need:

Step-by-step instructions

Print out and color the sheets (black and white version) or use the pre-colored template.

Have your child draw along the dotted lines and create sharp, precise folds.

Ask the children to grab those corners and put them together to fold the bee card in half.

The base card is almost ready.

Have children apply glue to the base card flaps (marked with “glue”).

Then gently close the card and let your child press it down, letting the glue settle.

Ask them to cut out parts of the bee.

The stinger, two wings and two eyes are ready.

Children can color the bee’s wings with markers or other coloring tools.

First apply glue to the eyes.

Then have them glue the wings – onto the back of the card.

Next, have them add some glue to the nib, slide it into the card, and glue it so it’s exposed.

All has been done!

It’s show time!

Your bee puppet is ready for action! Kids can slide their hands inside and let the fun begin.
