Oh how we love a great rainbow art project! This time we share a tutorial to show you how to make simple cotton ball rainbow art.
This game will be especially loved by preschoolers (and older toddlers) as it uses a fun drawing material – cotton balls. Great for fine motor skills and fun and messy enough for kids to enjoy.
This is the perfect little (and super simple) spring art activity for young kids – toddlers and preschoolers will love creating this, especially since this art project doesn’t use regular paintbrushes (like this foam flower art).
Your child will get great fine motor skills practice with this game as they are required to use/paint with clothespins and a cotton ball.
What you need:
Pour the rainbow paint onto a small dish, easel or paper plate (very handy).
If you want to turn this activity into a fine motor activity rather than a painting activity, you can just give your child a clothespin and ask them to change the pompoms for each color they use.
Finished the first color? Move on to the next color and the next and so on until you reach the end of the rainbow. If you are using this art project to teach about the colors of the rainbow, make sure your child uses the right colors, if you are doing this just for fun, the colors don’t matter.
Your painting is complete!
With thousands of printable crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing tutorials, you’ll always have the resources you need at your fingertips. Perfect for parents and teachers alike!
