Craft Stick and Buttons Snowflake Christmas Ornament

We hope homemade Christmas decorations will be a part of your Christmas tradition, if now let this handmade stick and button snowflake Christmas ornament be the first choice.

We love this ornament because it’s so easy to make and looks great displayed on the Christmas tree!

Handmade Snowflake Christmas Ornament with Sticks and Buttons

What you need:

  • craft stick
  • button
  • glue – kids can use low temperature glue gun
  • rope or string for hanging

You can use natural wooden craft sticks or pre-colored sticks. You can mix and match button colors or use all the colors of the rainbow.

If you choose natural wood, first stain the craft sticks and let them dry completely.

Place your sticks on a flat surface in a star shape. Stick them together with hot glue.

Glue the buttons to your sticks. We started with a large button in the middle and worked our way out from there. Use a low-temperature glue gun to glue the buttons to the sticks. You can also use white school glue (works well, but requires patience) or glue dots.

Cut a piece of string or cord and tape it to the back of the stick for hanging. Done!
