We love creating different types of Spring Crafts (check out our Honeycomb Paper Crafts or try making your own Paper Flower Bracelets).

And if you like to draw, we’ve got a tutorial that’s just right for today – learn How to Draw a Bee, or even better, have fun with Flower Coloring Pages.

Today we made a simple spring project and we wanted to share it with you because we found it so adorable.

It was a floral card with a picture of a little bee on it.

Bees are one of our favorite insects to craft – we can make them cute, funny and harmless, and we can also prepare a lot of different personalities for them (like the little paper wasp you see standing on this flower).

You can write a message inside the card and give it to someone for their birthday or to brighten their day.

This time we decided on pink and we also chose green.

So guys, grab your tools and let’s go!

How to make paper cards shaped like bees and flowers

What you need:

  • light pink paper
  • dark pink paper
  • yellow paper cover
  • black cardboard
  • light blue paper
  • round awl
  • The ruler is circular
  • pencil
  • drag
  • glue
  • sharp eyes
  • compass
  • a marker (for writing notes inside the card)

Step-by-step instructions

Flower

On light pink paper, draw a circle with a diameter of 6.5 cm.

Cut out the circle.

Fold the dark pink paper in half.

Draw a rectangle measuring 1.5 x 2.2 cm on it as shown.

The rectangle will start at the fold and then go straight to the right.

Now paste the light pink circle onto the dark pink paper.

The circle must touch the rectangle.

Now take a ruler with a circle and draw seven petals. Use a circle with a diameter of 3.5 cm.

Cut flowers with scissors.

Check that the card opens and closes correctly.

Bee

To assemble the bee, punch out a yellow circle and a black circle.

Cut out 1/3 of the black circle and glue it to the yellow circle.

That will be the bee’s head.

To assemble the body, cut four black strips and glue them to the yellow circle.

Make sure you leave equal distance between them as shown.

Cut a black triangle and glue it to the bottom part of the bee. That will be the bee’s stinger.

Take a circular ruler and draw two small circles on light blue paper.

Our circle has a diameter of 1.5 cm.

Now draw two rectangles (0.5 x 1.5 cm) touching the circles.

Cut out the circles using rectangles. The circles will be the wings, while the rectangles will help attach the wings to the bee’s body.

Make a small (0.5 cm) vertical cut in the middle of the bee. Use compass needle to cut.

Now push the rectangles through this cut.

The wings will look like in the picture.

Flip the bee and glue the rectangles onto the yellow circle.

Separate the wings and press them a little to make them look nice.

Take the googly eyes and stick them on the bee’s head.

Cut a yellow strip (1 cm wide and 3 cm long) and fold it into a П shape.

Glue the bee on one side of the П shape, then glue the other side of the П shape on the flower.

Wait until the glue dries.

Then make the bee wiggle with your index finger.

Write the message of your choice inside the card.

All has been done!

Buzz buzz, happy spring everyone!

You can also make flowers in any color you want.

We think they look nice.
