Footprint Salt Dough Keepsake

What better way to surprise grandparents or other family members on the holidays than to make and give a souvenir made from salt dough footprints?

This is a perfect thrifty craft for kids of all ages – you could even make it an annual tradition to track the growth of little feet (so adorable).

Let’s make a souvenir with Footprint salt dough

What you need

NOTE* The amount of powder you need depends on the size of the foot you want to print

Shape dough into a ball, cut a piece to the size you need and flatten it to about 1 inch thick on wax paper and a cookie sheet.

Sprinkle flour lightly on top of dough to prevent sticking.

Press each leg firmly into the dough and lift up carefully to make your mark.

At this point, you can use a toothpick or similar object to write on the print (e.g. name, date, etc.)

Bake at 300 degrees for about 2 hours (we tested it in the microwave and it was too thick to dry properly)

Let cool and paint as desired. This makes a great gift!!
