Frog Corner Bookmarks

Hop hop, it’s time to make frog corner bookmarks. Isn’t this a silly bunch? We love origami for kids at Easy Peasy and Fun and think origami corner bookmarks are just the thing to get kids started with origami. And if they encourage kids to read more books, you have a win-win situation.

Frog Corner Bookmark – Origami for Kids

What you need

  • green paper (origami or regular paper)
  • eye patch
  • red paper
  • black marker
  • drag
  • glue

How to fold an origami corner bookmark

Fold the square paper diagonally (both sides). Fold it into a triangle as shown. Grab the top of the triangle (pink dot) and fold it towards the bottom (as shown above).

Now, take one of the corners of the triangle (left or right) and fold it towards the middle as indicated by the pink dot in the image above. Do the same with the other corner and unfold both.

Grab the corner again, this time folding it up. Do the same with the other corner. Now grab one of the “flaps” and tuck it inside the bookmark. Do the same with the other corner.

Time to decorate!

Take an eye patch and trace a “frog eye” shape onto green paper. Cut two pieces and glue them onto the eyes. Cut a long tongue with a pointed triangle on one side from red paper. Glue all the decorations onto your frog corner bookmark. Draw nostrils and you’re done.
