Giraffes are really cool. Their long necks are really impressive.

And did you know that each giraffe has its own unique spot pattern?

So we thought of doing a project about giraffes.

Are you ready to get crafting with us?

How to Make a Giraffe Toilet Paper Roll Craft

What you need:

  • 2 rolls of toilet paper (different sizes)
  • drag
  • glue
  • hot glue
  • brown, pink and orange acrylic colors
  • comb
  • Googly eyes
  • 2 black velvet sticks and 5 brown velvet sticks
  • white cardboard

Let’s get started!

Step by step instructions

Cut 1/3 of the toilet paper roll smaller.

Next cut 1/3 of the larger roll of paper.

Cut the larger roll of paper in half.

Take one half and apply glue to one edge.

Glue the two ends together.

Apply some glue to all three rolls of paper and wrap them in white cardboard.

Tongue

Cut a piece of tongue from a leftover toilet paper roll.

Color the tongue with pink acrylic paint.

Paint the giraffe parts with orange-yellow acrylic paint.

Body

Take the body and create spots with brown acrylic paint. You can also create them with rainbow colors, like we did on this giraffe canvas painting.

Neck

Take the neck part and make brown spots.

Head

For the face, draw a brown stripe and two dots.

Cut two circles out of cardboard.

Glue on fake eyes and add two cardboard circles for the nose.

Stick your tongue in.

Apply some hot glue and attach the neck to the body.

Put a little hot glue on the neck and add the head.

mane

Take two strips of velvet, put them together and form a long zigzag shape.

Use hot glue to attach the zigzag shape.

Tail

Bend a cotton stick in half, start twisting the ends and leave a loop on the other side.

That will be the tail. Attach the tail to the body.

Horn

Make two giraffe antlers from cotton swabs and attach them to the head.

Foot

Make 4 legs by twisting black and brown velvet strips together.

Stick the feet to the body.

Finished!
