Ouch, ouch!

How to make Valentine’s Day greeting cards and kisses

What you need:

  • pencil
  • drag
  • glue
  • white cardboard
  • colored paper (lighter pink and darker pink)
  • black marker

Step-by-step instructions

Have your child take a piece of white cardboard and fold it in half to create a card.

Provide your child with lighter pink paper to make the pig’s head.

Ask them to draw a semicircle on the paper, making sure it fits the width of the folded card.

The height of the head must be less than the tag.

Then let the children cut it into shapes.

Apply glue to the bottom of the folded card, then press down to adhere.

Next, on to the ears!

Have children cut two triangles from the same sheet of light pink paper.

Encourage children to fold each triangle a little to create a 3D effect.

Ask them to attach the ears to the head with glue.

Have your child take a darker pink piece of paper and cut out an ellipse to make the pig’s snout.

Attach the picture to the head.

Give your child a black pen and ask them to draw two eyes.

Next are two nostrils and a smiling mouth.

Ask children to write the message “Hogs and Kisses” on the card using a black pen or any other colored pen they like.

We find it interesting because it cleverly wishes “hugs” in a gentle way, playing with the presence of a pig on the card.

Enjoy the humor in your Valentine’s wishes!
