This Easter craft is a perfect art project to do in the classroom because it is really, really easy to make and will look great displayed on the wall. It doesn’t take long to make so the whole process can be completed in one craft session.
We made all the chicks yellow, but you can also make them in other colors for more colorful decorations.
You can also use the same techniques and process to make a cute little DIY Easter card.
What you need:
Cut two large circles from orange paper or if you have a large circle punch, punch out two paper circles.
Cut small pieces along the edge of the circle, all around (both circles).
Fold some “strips” to add depth to your soon-to-be paper chicks.
Fold a small piece of orange paper in half.
Cut two triangles for the beak.
Glue the paper rings to the base (we used a blue base).
Stick your beak into the chick – somewhere in the middle.
Use a black marker to draw the chicken’s legs and eyes (or use bulging eyes).
Cut out long triangles (various lengths) from green paper. Apply glue to the bottom of the triangles and glue them to the bottom of the base paper.
Fold some of the triangles down to add depth to your collage artwork.
Done! You have made a beautiful origami Easter chick.
Now your child can play with arranging the chicks into circles.
Older kids can round the ends to make this craft even cuter.
Let your child’s imagination run wild.
A fun and easy Easter craft for kids.
