While it’s best to avoid this mushroom in the wild, it certainly makes a fun craft project.
We made the mushrooms entirely out of paper, but the stems can be a little tricky if young children (kindergarten) are doing this craft. We recommend using rolled paper instead.
It doesn’t have to be red with white spots, kids can create a rainbow of colors (which would look great in a classroom).
Are you ready to do it?
Let’s do it!
What you need:
Cut a large circle from red paper.
Cut small circles from white paper. Glue them to the red circle.
Cut out the red circle, from edge to center. Apply glue to one side of the cut.
Pull the other side over and press down to set the glue, forming a small cone shape.
Cut a wide strip of white paper.
Cut both sides to form “strips”. Fold the strips over (you can also fold them first and then cut).
Tape the two ends together to form a paper roll.
Apply glue to the strips (one side only).
Press the red mushroom cap down. Let the glue dry for a while.
Cut the grass base from green cardstock. Apply glue to the bottom of the mushroom and press it onto the grass base. Let the glue dry.
Done!
