Surprise the dad of the house with a handmade item made just for them (uncles, grandpas, or other great family members and friends work too).
Toilet paper roll crafts are fun for kids and very economical! Not feeling all warm and cozy with toilet paper rolls? You can also easily use kitchen paper towel rolls, buy craft paper rolls from craft stores, or even make your own rolls (we recommend using a thicker paper, at least construction paper).
You can use paper to “color” the rolls or use paint, it’s your choice, the results will be amazing no matter what you decide.
What you need
If working with paper, you will also need paper glue and scissors (pencil is optional).
We used paper in this tutorial.
We will start by cutting a strip of white paper.
The strip of paper should be as wide as a roll of paper. You can help yourself by rolling the roll on paper and drawing a line along the path with a pencil.
Cut.
Also, cut a piece of black paper. You can place the white paper on top and use it as a template.
Cut a triangle out of black paper (somewhere in the middle but it doesn’t have to be exact).
Apply glue to a piece of white paper and wrap it around the toilet paper roll. Let the glue set.
Apply glue to the black paper.
Wrap it around the paper roll and let the glue dry.
Color 1 butterfly red (or whatever color you want for your bow).
Glue it to the white triangle.
Glue a few buttons (also use glue because it works best) and you’re done.
