While we’re keeping it simple, this craft can really be “dressed up.” Add sequins to the peacock feathers or other shiny materials and you’ll really make this bird shine in all its glory.

How to make Windsock Peacock Toilet Paper Roll

What you need:

  • toilet paper roll
  • green paint
  • green tissue paper
  • drag
  • glue
  • yellow and white paper

Step by step instructions

The first thing you need to do is color the toilet paper roll blue (some brands actually have a blue color called peacock blue).

Let the paint dry, once dry, punch two holes in one side of the roll to thread a string through.

Thread the string through both holes…

…and tie it tight.

Draw two big eyes and a beak. Cut them out.

Apply a small amount of glue to the back of both eyes and beak and stick them to the paper roll.

Cut long strips of tissue paper, if possible, in different shades of green.

Apply glue to one end of the paper strip and press it onto the inside of the toilet paper tube.

Older children can also cut out the legs and glue them to the paper tube.

Finished. Your handmade peacock toilet paper roll is ready to hang and blow in the wind.
