What you need

  • 1 bag of mints
  • metal christmas cookie cutters
  • cooking spray
  • oil paper
  • cookie sheet
  • hot glue gun
  • Christmas ribbon

How to make peppermint candy decorations

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Remove the peppermints from the plastic wrapper and set aside. Spray a cookie cutter with Pam spray and place on a cookie sheet.

Place mints into cookie cutter.

Bake for about 4-9 minutes, keeping an eye on them as they bake (time depends on the candy and your oven). When you see them melting, take them out.

Once they are completely hard, gently push them out of the cookie cutter.

Once cool, apply some hot glue to the back of it, push the ribbon in and let the glue dry.

These look sweet, don’t they? A word of warning for those who didn’t have a warm Christmas – if your area is hot and ants are active, it’s best to seal them with a good sealant.
