While worksheets can be great for learning the alphabet, interactive hands-on activities are much better. This activity is really easy to set up and since there are 6 pictures for each letter of the alphabet, there is plenty of practice mastering the sounds. 25 of the letters have their initial sounds, while the letter x has 2 letters with x as their initial sound and the others have either a middle or final sound.

What you need:
Optional: colorizer if you will print a black and white version
Print out the template (thick printer paper or cardboard is recommended, you can also laminate the spinner).
We recommend printing the top part (with capital letters) on colored cardstock.
Cut out the parts of the spinner, for one spinner you will need the top part with the large letters and the bottom part with the 6 pictures and letters).
Punch a hole in the center. The hole should be smaller than the head of your rivet (or similar).
Place the top piece on top of the bottom piece, align them, and push the rivet through both holes.
Turn it over and separate the two nail legs.
Done! Your alphabet spinner is ready to use.
