Simple 3D Rainbow Paper Craft

We love rainbows so we really enjoyed this easy rainbow paper craft! Want to make your own? Just follow this step by step tutorial and you’ll have one in no time!

Rainbow Paper Crafts

What you need:

  • rainbow colored craft paper + a sheet of white paper
  • cotton ball
  • drag
  • glue
  • tape

Cut out strips of colored paper, you will need 7 strips, one of each color if you want to make a true rainbow. Cut out two cloud shapes from white construction paper.

Glue the paper strips in the correct order onto a cloud – glue them in the middle of the cloud (the color order is violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red or vice versa). Secure with tape. Glue to another cloud at the other end of the rainbow paper strips. Secure with tape.

Fold the strips of paper along the tape, this will make it easier to create the rainbow shape later.

Apply a generous amount of glue to the cloud (we used a glue stick, white school glue works well too). Add cotton balls. Make sure to add cotton balls to the part of the cloud below the rainbow as this will help keep the cloud’s curved shape.

Do the same with the second cloud.
