Simple Snowman Ornament – Kid Made Christmas Ornament

It’s getting colder outside and although we haven’t had a chance to make a proper snowman we decided to make this simple paper snowman decoration.

Making unique Christmas decorations will make the holidays more special and you can keep them for years to come.

We made this little project to go with the Itsy Bitsy Snowman book.

Easy Snowman Christmas Tree Ornaments for Kids

What you need to do

  • blank paper
  • glue
  • drag
  • wool
  • orange pompom (or marker)
  • black marker

So here’s what we did. We folded the paper a few times because it made cutting the circles a lot quicker. Then we drew a circle around the tape – the outer one was for the body and cut out the circles. We ended up with 16 circles – the more circles the better the final product – you can adjust the number based on the age of your child.

Next, we draw the body of the snowman – an outer circle around the tape for the bottom and an inner circle for the head. You need to cut out two shapes. Glue them together with yarn in the middle.

Fold all the circles in half and divide them into two groups (8 circles in our case). Glue them together – add glue to one half of the circle and glue it to the other circle. Once they are all glued together, glue it to the snowman. Do the same with the other half of the circle and glue it to the back of the snowman.

Decorate with yarn (like a scarf), add a pom-pom for a nose (or draw a nose) and draw eyes.

This snowman ornament is our contribution to the “10 Days of Christmas Made by Kids” series inspired by the books Melissa from Mama Miss has.
