Are you ready to celebrate Independence Day? We have prepared a fun activity for kids, just print out the 4th of July agamograph template, give them some coloring material they are comfortable with and start having fun.
These are really fun to make and even more fun to display. We made two versions of this, one for younger kids (preschoolers and kindergarteners) and one for older kids.
We shared a summer agamograph pattern with you a few days ago and since you liked it so much, we’re happy to say that we have more in the works. First time seeing an agamograph? It’s a fun paper toy that combines two different images, making one visible depending on the angle you’re looking at it.
They are really easy to make and we really hope our templates will inspire your child to start creating their own scenes as this can really be a great art activity.
This product is perfect to give to kids on Independence Day as it features two designs that represent the patriotic spirit of the United States.
A photo will reveal a patriotic hat.
The second picture will show the American flag.
Are you ready to create an agamograph? We are sure you are!
Agamograph 4th of July
- our printable 4th of july agamograph template (cut and paste version is suitable for younger children, all-in-one agamograph version is better suited for older children)
- coloring materials (pencils, markers, crayons…)
- drag
- ruler
- scoring tool (we usually use something available, in this case a ruler)
- printer
- paper (thicker paper is best, but regular printer paper will work too)
With the cut and paste version, kids will first color the pictures, cut out strips, and glue them onto a grid (which they then fold).
With the one-sheet version, the picture is colored and folded.

Print out our 4th of July agamograph template. We recommend using thicker paper (we used 120gsm) if you will be coloring with markers (as they wrinkle the paper). If using colored pencils or crayons, regular printer paper will work.

Color the pattern.
If you are using “all in one” printable sheet music follow this guide.
If you are using the cut and paste version, cut the images and paste them (in order, mixing image one and image two) onto the grid. Marking along the lines is not necessary but will help.
Cut out the agamograph.
Fold in a “spring” fashion – along the fold lines.
Continue folding until finished.
When you fold it all, it’s done.
