Apple Stamping Fall Tree Art

Stamping apples and potatoes is a simple artistic activity that many generations have done. It’s easy to make and a great way to use up an apple or a potato that has lost its freshness. Today we will show you a simple apple tree stamping art piece, a project that can be done with children of all ages and that, due to the colors chosen, is perfect for autumn.

You can use it as inspiration to create works of art that change with the seasons; Just change the color palette and challenge your child to show how the seasons change.

This is a great activity to introduce printing to young children.

How to make autumn apple tree stamping art

What you need:

printable template
handmade sticks
paintbrush
apple
knife
cutting board
Washable paint
paper plate or tray

Step-by-step instructions

If teaching young children, you can make small handles for apples by gluing craft sticks to them. This will make it easier for little hands to hold the apple.

We will use three different colors – orange, red and green.

Pour a small amount of paint onto a tray or paper plate.

Dip the apple in the paint.

Use our printable tree template or draw the shape of your tree trunk on cardboard.

Have your child start gluing the paint-dipped apples onto the paper.

We started with green paint, but kids can use any color.

Add paint if necessary. If the apple is not completely covered, you can also use a brush to apply paint to it.
