Butterfly Sponge Printing Art

Be ready to create a colorful butterfly with this funny and simple concept of art printing!

A project is so simple that children of all ages will be enjoyed, easy enough to make children know and be quite enough to entertain the older children.

How to make butterfly sponge art

What you need:

White cardstock
Sponge cleaning
Elastic strip (or topic)
Craft paint (or any color of choice – we used yellow, pink and orange)
Black marking point

Step by step

Start with a piece of white cardstock. You can use simple printing paper, but cardstock is preferred.

Take a clean sponge.

Prepare a elastic band, or use a piece of the topic, it will work so well.

Wrap it around the center of the sponge to create a bow shape. You just made a butterfly stamp!

Time to add some colors!

Use any color you like to paint a part of the sponge.

Choose a different paint color to add a second band on each side of the butterfly wing. We paint it pink.

Draw the edges of the sponge with another color to create beautiful colorful wings. We used orange.

Now for the interesting part! There are children overturning the sponge and pressing it firmly on Cardstock.

If the prints are unsuccessful, add more paints as well as some water to prevent dry paint.

Gently lift the sponge to reveal the butterfly!

Add more paints if needed and stamp again to make the color turn on.

Let butterflies dry completely before moving to the next step.
