Butterfly Toilet Paper Roll Craft

This artistic butterfly toilet paper roll would make a stunning wall decoration.

For this reason, if you use kitchen paper towel rolls or craft paper rolls, this product would make a fun classroom project – think of the amazing wall display with colorful paper roll butterflies.

Toilet paper roll crafts, although we often use paper towel rolls, are a popular and economical craft material.

You can create all sorts of amazing creations with something as simple as a paper roll (like these toilet paper roll bees).

There are also different ways to make them, we usually color the paper roll and decorate it to make a character, but this time we will do it a little differently.

These butterflies require a little more skill since you need to cut the rolls (or they need to be pre-cut by a parent/teacher). But actually making butterflies from toilet paper rolls is quite easy.

How to make a butterfly craft with toilet paper

What you need:

  • toilet paper rolls (one or more rolls, can be kitchen paper towel rolls or store-bought craft paper rolls)
  • white school glue
  • paint
  • paint brush
  • drag
  • canvas or cardboard

Follow the step-by-step instructions

Press the paper roll down to flatten it.

Start by cutting the roll into 6 equal pieces. Push If cutting 6 rolls of toilet paper from one roll seems difficult, use 2 rolls.

Set aside 5 and take one. Cut off one end (along the crease). Fold it over, glue the bottom to form an antenna, hold it for a moment to let the glue set (or use a clothespin or paper clip to hold it).

Prepare your canvas (you can also paint it). Dip one side of the mini roll in glue and glue it to the middle (bottom half) of the canvas. This will form the body of the butterfly.

Dip the other rolls of paper into glue and stick them onto the fabric, forming a butterfly shape.

Stick the antenna on top of the body.

Let the glue dry. Choose your favorite color of paint. Paint the inside of the toilet paper roll.

Finished, the toilet paper roll butterflies are ready to display.
