So I may have a thing for buttons. That may be an understatement. I am crazy about buttons! When it comes to sewing (I am not a sewing expert but I can certainly sew buttons) I will definitely buy a more expensive one or two but when it comes to hand sewing I opt for cheaper alternatives (as a button hoarder I really have to) so let’s take a look at some good buttons to buy!
Ebay! I have been buying them from ebay for years, but only recently did I think to look for colorful batches for CHEAP!!! Then there is Blitsy, which always has crazy prices on craft supplies and buttons are no exception. Dollar Stores sometimes have great packs too (I notice they usually sell them in packs of 10 but sometimes you can get a colorful bag with a ton of buttons, which is awesome).
Multiple handcrafted buttons in various colors
All types of buttons on Blitsy
And here are the little things I used in this project
What you need
Paint the canvas green. Let it dry before painting the grass green. Let it dry.
Take a larger yellow button and glue it onto the fabric. Now draw a stem with a green Sharpie (add some leaves if you like). Once the yellow button is in place, start gluing smaller (or larger) colored buttons around it to complete the entire flower. Repeat with the other flowers.
You can make the flowers even more vibrant – use a large yellow button and glue (preferably with a glue gun) one or two smaller yellow (or orange) buttons on top of it.
With thousands of printable crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing tutorials, you’ll always have the resources you need at your fingertips. Perfect for parents and teachers alike!
