Did you ever make jointed paper dolls as a child? They are very happy. We have a whole set of Christmas split pin puppets for your kids to make.
Not only are these paper puppets fun to make, but your kids can play with them for hours after assembling them. This opens up a lot of opportunities for imaginative play.

This Christmas craft for kids offers plenty of opportunities for fun as there are eight different festive Characters in this set: Santa, reindeer, two elves, angel, snowman, Gingerbread Man and nutcrackers.

Below are pictures of four carnival characters.
What you need:
If you want to make the puppets more sturdy, we recommend printing the template on cardstock. You can also print them on regular paper, cut out pieces and laminate them for extra durability.
Have children color the puppets or print pre-colored templates.
We’ll show you how to make a Santa pin puppet – don’t worry if your child wants to start with a different character – they’re all assembled similarly.
Cut out parts.
Make holes (marked with black dots) so the puppet can move its parts.
Insert the dividing pins for the hands.
Secure the legs at the back.
Insert split pins for Santa’s feet.
Secure the legs at the back.
Santa is ready to dance and ring the bells!
Have your child make all eight Christmas friends – a reindeer, two elves, a snowman, Gingerbread Man, Nutcracker and an angel.
We love each and every one of them!
Which one does your child like best?
