Community Workers Dress Up Dolls

Children need to know who is working in their community! These community worker dolls are a great way to introduce children to people in your community.

Whether firefighters, police officers, nurses or construction workers – all of these workers are an essential part of the functioning of a town or city.

One thing kids LOVE to talk about is what they want to be when they grow up. This Community Worker Dress Up Doll activity is a great way to discuss careers.

As you make this craft, take some time to talk about what each community worker is doing! We love making different crafts for the kids and learning at the same time (try making a Quiet Printable Book for everyone and a Paper House for my family).

How to Make a Doll Dressed for a Community Worker

What you need:

Step by step instructions

The first step to making this fun craft is to print out the template.

Templates can be printed in black and white or in color.

If you don’t have time to color or your child doesn’t like to color, having a pre-colored printable version is great.

You may need to assist your child or student in cutting out smaller pieces.

However, cutting out puzzle pieces is a great way for kids to get some cutting and pasting experience!

This activity is not only fun for kids but also helps them practice fine motor skills.

Allow your child to spend time dressing up as a member of the community. They will have a lot of fun doing this!

The finished look gives each community worker a realistic looking uniform. You and your kids will have fun figuring it all out. Ask these questions to make the activity more fun:

  • What do you want to be when you grow up?
  • What does each of these community workers do?
  • Which community service job interests you most right now?
