Construction Paper Owl Craft

We absolutely love fall crafts! It’s one of the best seasons because you can really get creative with woodland animals – like this paper owl craft.

This is a super easy craft, perfect for preschoolers or even kindergarteners if they have mastered scissor skills.*This article contains affiliate links*

Who likes owls? We do! A fun bird although it can be very noisy at inopportune times (when you’re trying to sleep and it decides to do its hooting right next to the open window – but still a cute owl nonetheless).

We also love easy paper crafts because they are one of the most popular craft materials with kids (and teachers).

This craft idea involves a lot of cutting and pasting so it will really be a great exercise for fine motor skills and scissors for little ones, and it’s fun too.

Let’s make an owl with construction paper.

What you need:

  • drag
  • glue
  • black marker
  • pencils or crayons for drawing by hand
  • circle punch (kids will love punching circles)

Colorful craft paper, choose any color you like! These are the colors we chose:

  • brown construction paper for body
  • orange paper for wings
  • pink and purple paper for feathers
  • white paper for eyes
  • gold foil for mine

Any other decorative materials you can think of.

Or follow the step-by-step instructions below

Draw an oval owl shape on paper. Draw two pointed tips on one side for the owl’s “ears.”

Cut out the image.

Draw with your hand.

Cut them out.

Cut out two white circles for the eyes and draw black dots.

Keep your eyes on the body.

Cut out the beak and glue it between the eyes.

Start punching circles! We used two colors but you can use as many colors as you like, the more colors the merrier.

Glue the circles to the body, overlapping them slightly.

Glue the fingerprint.

You have completed your paper owl craft.
