Are you ready for a new series of fun printable blocks? We have match and match blocks! First in this exciting series of blocks is a set of printable animal blocks, match and match with 6 different animals (6 heads, 6 bodies and 6 legs) and endless fun!

There is a set that you or your child can color and there is also a set that is already colored.

We love paper toys for kids and these printable paper blocks are definitely one of the most fun. We will be making all of our sets “interchangeable” so that with each new set released, there will be lots of new combinations for your kids to create. So much fun!

This first set has 6 animals that we often see as pets or in the family. A cute cat, a dog, a bird, a mouse, a hamster and a rabbit.

While there is a pre-colored version, we really hope your child will choose the black and white version to color themselves, which makes the whole process more fun – not to mention makes the blocks more unique.

These printable and puzzle boxes make great classroom gifts (an inexpensive way to give each student a beautiful paper toy to build). The puzzle cubes also make great gifts for friends and family.

Ready to start mixing and matching? We are!

How to assemble our Mix and Match animal blocks

What you need:

Or follow the step-by-step instructions below

Print out our animal puzzle template (you can download the template at the end of this tutorial).

We recommend printing on thicker printing paper to make the blocks more durable.

If you print our black and white version, color all the animals first.

We color with markers because we like bright and vibrant colors.

Of course you can use any other colorant.

Once everything is colored, cut out the tube template.

Fold along straight lines and make the folds crisp by running a craft stick (or whatever) over the folds.

Place the colored side facing the table, folding the edges of the paper up.

This will make folding the cube easier.Fold the cube over. Apply glue to the edges and stick them together.

The order of pasting does not matter.

Add glue to the edges as you go.

The last step is always the hardest. Apply a larger amount of glue.

Gently press the cubes together and hold for a moment to let the glue set.

Repeat with all other cubes.

You can give them a little time to let the glue really work.

Once all 3 blocks are assembled, you are ready to start assembling your animals.
