How to make handmade Chinese dragon cupcake liners
What you need:
- drag
- glue
- black cardboard
- cupcake liners (orange, red, yellow or other colors)
- two innocent eyes
- paper/tissue paper
Step-by-step instructions
Prepare cardboard for the background. You can use any color; We recommend black because it really makes the Chinese dragon stand out.
Now, gather up those colorful cupcake liners. They are the magic ingredients to create this dragon’s body.
Have your child fold the cupcake liners in half.
Apply a wavy line of glue to the cardstock or apply glue to each cupcake liner.
Glue the folded cupcake liners.
Ask kids to add more color by folding several red, yellow, and orange cupcake liners, then taping them together, facing each other.
Now let’s do the first part. Take a cupcake liner (red) and fold one side to the middle.
We’re creating a rectangle like that.
Then, fold the other side to form a rectangle with one rounded edge.
Have your child apply some glue and stick the dragon’s head to the body.
Glue on googly eyes or googly eye stickers.
Have your child cut two small horns from yellow cupcake liners or yellow paper and glue them onto the dragon’s head.
Have them cut a strip from red, orange and yellow cupcake liners or paper/tissue paper to light the fire.
Make some accordion folds.
Glue the mouth to look like this Chinese dragon is breathing fire.
Ask children to cut three strips of yellow, orange and red paper and glue them as tails.
Chinese dragons need legs. Ask the child to cut some orange strips, make accordion folds and glue them to the cardboard to form a leg-like body.
Chinese dragons have four legs.
All has been done!
