Step-by-step instructions

Have your child color the background paper (the one with the words or the one with the small rectangle above the turkey) with colors that will make it look like a regular turkey. Brown, yellow, orange and red tones are often great choices.

Get another print, the one with just the turkey. This will be our turkey in disguise. Not all parts will be hidden by the camouflage, so let the kids think carefully about how they want to color their turkey.

We make the tail orange and yellow so that it resembles a flame.

Cut out all the accessories and the colored turkey to get a flaming tail.

A helmet is a must and so are boots.

To make the firefighter’s camouflage even more believable, we also added fire hydrants and hoses.

Now take the printout of a normal-looking turkey and fold along the dotted lines.

Apply glue to the area just below the turkey (or if you printed the remaining base, on the small folded rectangle).
