Motivated by gratitude for those who selflessly protect and serve, this turkey decided to wear a firefighter’s outfit. Adorned in the iconic costumes of these everyday heroes and with a heart filled with admiration for the firefighters who risk their lives to keep others safe, this turkey hopes hoping that his disguise would serve as a tribute to their tireless dedication. A perfect disguise!

Also check out our turkey coloring pages and how to draw a turkey tutorial which is a great addition to this fun project.

What we love most about our printable is that it incorporates both a turkey with and without a firefighter costume, so this turkey can wear his firefighter costume and take it off – something your child will be excited about.

How to make a turkey disguised as a firefighter

What you need:

  • our printable pattern (you can get the firefighter costume printable for free at the end of the guide or get the whole set with over 25 outfits).
  • coloring materials (markers or crayons are best)
  • drag
  • glue

Step-by-step instructions

Have your child color the background paper (the one with the words or the one with the small rectangle above the turkey) with colors that will make it look like a regular turkey. Brown, yellow, orange and red tones are often great choices.

Get another print, the one with just the turkey. This will be our turkey in disguise. Not all parts will be hidden by the camouflage, so let the kids think carefully about how they want to color their turkey.

We make the tail orange and yellow so that it resembles a flame.

Next, color the print using camouflage and a fire extinguisher.

Cut out all the accessories and the colored turkey to get a flaming tail.

Stick on accessories. We started with the fireman’s jacket.

A helmet is a must and so are boots.

To make the firefighter’s camouflage even more believable, we also added fire hydrants and hoses.

Now take the printout of a normal-looking turkey and fold along the dotted lines.

Apply glue to the area just below the turkey (or if you printed the remaining base, on the small folded rectangle).

Take the camouflaged turkey and stick it on top, making sure the turkey underneath is completely covered.

All has been done!

Now it’s time to see this Turkish Camouflage to Firefighter Printable Pattern in action. Flip the pages to turn the firefighter outfit on and off.
