Dry Erase Design Your Own Snowman Activity

Dry erase markers are fun, and you don’t have to limit their use to just on the whiteboard. We’re sharing a fun dry erase design, make your own snowman activity idea for you and your kids. This project allows your child to make a unique snowman over and over again.

This is a great winter activity that allows children to express their creativity without stress. This is a great project to help children build confidence in drawing.

The winter months are the best time to cozy up in a warm room and do some winter crafts and activities with your kids (a cup of hot cocoa also makes a difference). This snowman making activity is fun because it is a joint project.

If you are a teacher, you can also prepare these for your classroom. It’s a project your child can do over and over again (and you can use it year after year).

How to do a snowman dry erase activity

What you need:

  • pencil
  • cardboard
  • compass (optional)
  • acrylic paint (white)
  • paintbrush
  • marker (black, orange and color of your choice)
  • Contact paper (best) or transparent tape
  • clean piece of cloth

Step-by-step instructions

Start by drawing a snowman outline on cardboard.

Paint the snowman’s body white (acrylic paint or craft paint).

Now turn it into a dry erase project. It’s best to use wallpaper because you can cover the entire area with just one sheet.

If you don’t have sticky paper, you can use clear tape to cover the snowman.

Cover the area from top to bottom.

The fun can now begin! Give children dry erase markers (as many colors as possible) and let them design their own snowman.

How they make their snowman is entirely up to them.

They can add some buttons on the snowman’s belly.

Orange carrot nose or red round nose. Whatever they want!

They can also add other details, such as scarves, hats, tree branches… The possibilities are endless.

When the kids are finished and ready to draw another snowman, just ask them to wipe off their work and start again.

Ta-da! The snowman canvas is ready for another round of creativity.

This time, let your kids make a snowman with a completely new look.

Ask them to draw their nose.

And a scarf.

Good job! Now that the children have completed two wonderful snowmen, they can repeat this fun process over and over again.

This winter activity will bring tons of fun!
