There are so many benefits to making origami and you can easily get kids excited about simple projects like this. DIY corner bookmarks are a perfect way to get kids started in the world of origami because kids can go beyond simple folding and add their own personal touch to their projects as they decorate them. And there are so many ways you can design and decorate your corner bookmarks.

This would be a great project for the classroom, kids could make it themselves or give it to parents or other family members.

DIY Easter Bunny Corner Bookmark

What you need:

  • Origami paper (or regular paper cut into squares) – pastel colours are great for Easter – we didn’t use blue and pink.
  • vibrating eye patch
  • white paper
  • black marker
  • drag
  • glue

You can see the corner bookmark folding instructions in this video tutorial

Or follow the step-by-step instructions here

We use black paper to better illustrate the folding steps.

Fold the paper diagonally. Unfold.

Fold into a triangle (colored side out). Grasp the top of the triangle (just one sheet of paper) and fold it towards the bottom of the triangle.

Fold the left and right corners toward the center of the bottom of the triangle. Crease and unfold.

Grab the corner again, this time folding it towards the top of the triangle. Crease carefully. Do the same on the other side.

Now tuck both ends inside the bag.

Now you have a corner bookmark. If you want, you can also tuck the “white triangle” inside the pocket.

Now it’s time to turn this DIY corner bookmark into a bunny corner bookmark. Cut out ears, teeth, and a snout and glue them onto the corner bookmark. Also, add two eye stickers (or just draw your own).
