Not too long ago, we made a fun paper Chinese dragon puppet, but this time, we wanted to make something a little simpler.
How to make easy Chinese dragon crafts
What you need:
- pencil
- drag
- glue
- acrylic paint (red)
- paint brush
- colored paper (blue, red, light blue and yellow)
- 2 divine eyes
- black marker
Step-by-step instructions
Prepare a paper plate.
Ask the kids to paint it red or another color like a Chinese dragon.
Let it dry and once dry, fold it in half.
Using a black marker, draw a wavy line from one side to the other.
Add two wavy lines below, creating the shape of a snake’s body.
Cut the dragon’s body.
Chinese dragons need legs! Have your child draw a leg on a folded piece of paper.
Cut out the legs and have your child glue them to the body.
Have them cut another piece – this time in a zig-zag pattern like a dragon’s tail and glue it to the end of the body.
Have children create heads by drawing zig-zag shapes on paper.
Cut the piece out.
Have them cut another piece, this time a smaller piece of yellow paper, and stick it on top.
The dragon will look amazing when your child adds another small piece of red.
Cut a face-like shape from light blue paper and glue it to the mane.
Glue the head to the front part of the body.
Dragons need eyes.
It’s time for some details! Use a black marker and draw zig-zag patterns on the body of the Chinese dragon.
Complete!
Your child’s Chinese dragon is now festive and ready to celebrate!
You can place it anywhere you like.
Have fun!
