Easy Paper Bunny Craft – Easter Idea for Kids

Hop, hop it’s time to make a super easy paper bunny craft. This is a great craft for Easter, although you can make a bunny craft any time of year.

However, for this holiday, we chose light blue and light pink, which match the Easter bunny.

What we love about these bunnies is that they are super easy to make and look super adorable.

Even better, you can make a bunch of these and hang them on a string to make a wreath. Think of it as a craft class!

Most preschoolers will struggle with this (they will need help) so you will need to modify the craft to include just the bunny head. This project is more suitable for preschoolers and older (including adults :).

We think they would also make great Easter basket decorations. If you use more paper strips in the body, you could also fill them with candy for a little surprise for the kids.

Let’s do it!

We will be making a light blue Easter bunny craft.

Cut 4 long strips of paper (cut to the length of A4/letter size paper) and 4 shorter strips of paper (cut to the width of A4/letter size paper).

The width of the strips we used was about the width of a thumb.

Step 1

Take 2 long strips and glue them together to form a cross.

Glue the remaining 2 long strips together, forming a snowflake. All the strips should be evenly distributed (although they don’t have to be too precise).

Do the same with the short strips.

Step 2

Take the long striped “snowflake” and start making a paper ball.

Glue the strips together, forming loops, until all the strips are glued together and you will have a nice ball.

Do the same with the short “snowflake” strips.

Now you have two paper balls of different sizes.

Glue the paper balls together.

You may have to hold them together for a while to let the glue really dry.

Cut out ears from light blue cardboard.

Also, cut a smaller set from light pink and glue it inside the blue ears.

Cut out the snout and draw the nose.

Cut teeth out of white paper and draw a line down the middle with a black marker. Glue teeth to snout.

Glue the ears and snout to the head (smaller round part) of the bunny.

Add two moving eye patches.

Your simple paper rabbit craft is finished and ready to display.
