Felt Apple Craft – A Fun Back to School Craft
What you need:
- Wooden embroidery frame, small to medium size
- white felt
- red felt
- green felt
- tan felt
- small black pom poms or googly eyes
- drag
- craft glue (or felt glue)
1. Start by placing the white felt in the center of the embroidery hoop. Press it into place and pull the edges tight to remove wrinkles. Use scissors to trim the edges so that the edge of the hoop is clean.
2. Cut out the shapes that will make up your apple. This will include a circle with some curved edges for the base of your apple, cut from red felt. Cut a small oval from your green felt to make decorative leaves.
A small rectangle of brown felt forms the stem. A small zigzag of complementary green felt forms the perfect caterpillar.
3. Take your scissors and cut a slit on the side of the apple shape. This is where you can insert the worm so it looks like it is coming out of the apple.
4. Use craft glue to assemble your apple. Once assembled and dry, you can add a little glue to the back of the felt and press it onto the main white felt piece.
5. To finish, add a pom pom or round eye to the worm’s head.
Your felt apple craft is now ready to display. You can hang it on the wall or place it on a table for a quick decoration.
