Woven paper is great for fine motor skills and with the warmer months approaching, we thought it was a great time to make this fish-shaped paper weaving craft (and we have a printable template for you too).

Dive deep into the ocean and practice fine motor skills while making this cute sea animal craft.
We love inspiring creativity and hope that this idea will grow into many different creations, but we also know that sometimes a template is helpful, so we also created a template (or two) for this craft.
You can simply use paper strips to make this craft or you can color the pattern first to make this woven paper craft more vibrant.
Ready? Let’s make this fish craft!
What you need:
Optional: markers, ink pads, glitter glue…
Print out one of our templates (you can find them at the end of the tutorial).
If you want to color them, it’s best to color them before cutting them out.
Cut the pattern.
Fold in half (colored side out) following the lines on the pattern.
Cut along the dashed line.
Cut strips of paper of different colors.
Weave strips of paper between the cuts on the fish.
Glue the ends together.
Cut off the tail.
Your paper fish weaving is complete! If you don’t want to make a second version, rinse and repeat the entire process.
