Funky Toilet Paper Roll Owls

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to make some fun toilet paper roll owls. The more colors you use, the more fun they’ll look.

This craft is great for getting rid of leftover scrap paper and making use of those rolls of paper.

We did a brown owl and a pink owl, but there’s really no limit to the colors you can use.

To highlight the eyes, we used leftover cork – however, you can easily skip this step.

How to Make an Owl Using a Toilet Paper Roll

What you need:

  • toilet paper roll
  • Acrylic color of your choice
  • drag
  • glue
  • cork
  • color paper
  • White paper
  • round hole punching machine
  • black pencil
  • craft knife
  • brush

Let’s create!

Step by step guide

Paint acrylic paint onto toilet paper roll. Let dry.

Using a cutter, cut two cork circles.

Punch out a series of circles using a circle punch.

Take a roll of toilet paper and fold the top over.

It should look like this.

Apply a little glue to the cork circles and glue them together to make eyes.

Fold each paper circle in half, then add a little glue and fold the half circle in half again.

You will get a triangular pizza.

Put a little glue on the toilet paper roll…

…and start arranging the triangles from bottom up.

Make three or four rows. Use any color paper you like.

Use a hole punch to punch out two circles and fold them in half.

That’s the wings.

Glue the wings to the owl’s body.

Cut two small circles from white paper and glue them to the cork.

Use black eyeliner to draw two eyeballs.

Cut a small triangle out of colored paper and glue it to the face under the eyes.

That would be the nose.

Finished!

Now where will you put your owl?

If you have a yard and a tree with a hole, you can put it right there.

Hope you enjoy this project!
