Materials used

Gather your supplies.

Step-by-step instructions

Body

Use scissors to make a diagonal cut at the end of the toilet paper roll.

Step 1

Do the same on the opposite side of the toilet paper roll using scissors.

Step 2

Take your glue stick and apply a little glue to one side of the slot.

Step 4

Use your hands to press firmly to secure the bottom parts of the toilet paper roll together, forming a V shape for the bottom part.

Step 5

Head

Place your stick in the craft foam ball. It will help you draw shadows more easily.

Step 6

Use your paintbrush to coat the foam ball with green paint.

Step 7

Start painting the cardboard with green paint, covering every inch of it.

Step 8

Feet

Grab your scissors and printable template and cut out the legs.

Step 9

Draw more legs on a piece of green paper.

Step 10

Face

Glue two eyes onto the front of the green painted foam ball.

Step 11

Draw a mouth on the foam ball with a black marker.

Step 12

Antenna

While holding the pipe cleaner in your hand, take the scissors and start cutting the two whiskers.

Step 13

Use scissors to poke a hole in the top of the foam ball.

You need two holes at the top to insert the grasshopper antennae.

Step 14

Place your cut pipe cleaner pieces into the openings.

Step 15

Trim the top of the pipe cleaner to make it a little shorter.

Step 16

Perform precise trimming with another pipe cleaning tool.

You want them to be the same length.

Step 17

Glue the body to the foam ball.

Step 18

Start gluing the legs from the printable to the lower part of the body.

Step 19

Glue the back legs just like you did with the front legs.

Step 20

Use a toothpick to add more paint to the cheeks, making your grasshopper look even happier!

Step 21

Secure the front pieces in place with glue.

Step 23

Voila!

Step 24

Now you have a lovely, bright green grasshopper ready to display.
