You can be very creative when it comes to paper plate crafts, over time we have created quite a few Halloween themed creations like a regular looking paper plate or a glowing jack-o-lantern ( We love a unique twist.) ).
This time, we wanted to create something that could easily be used as an easy Halloween decoration for kids.
What you need:
This can be made with small or regular sized paper plates, the main thing is to have round paper plates.
Paint the back of the paper plate yellow. It is best to use Tempera paint or acrylic paint.
Set the sheet aside to let the paint dry. While the paint dries let’s make the bats.
Cut small rectangles of various sizes from black paper.
Fold each rectangle in half and cut into a bat shape, half a bat with the body at the fold and the wings facing the opening of the folded rectangle.
This way you will get a symmetrical bat.
Apply glue to the bat’s body (you can skip the wings) and then stick it on the paper plate.
Repeat for as many bats as you can fit on the paper plate. Some bat wings can even spread beyond the edge of the paper plate.
After the glue dries, you can fold the wings a little to make the whole creation look more 3D.
All done, your Halloween bat paper plate is complete and ready to display.
With thousands of crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing guides to print, you’ll always have the resources you need at hand. Perfect for both parents and teachers!
