Today, we want to share with you the cutest paper balloon idea, along with a printable template you can use (if you want).
Simple paper crafts for kids (and kids at heart) are our favorite since we always have some colorful paper around.

This is the first hot air balloon craft idea we’ve shared but we really enjoyed it because it was fun and colorful to make, so we’re pretty sure we’ll be sharing more with you soon.
You can use our printable template for this craft project or just let your kids draw their own balloons to get creative. This idea would work well as a classroom craft project (preschool, kindergarten, and higher grades), you just need to adjust some of the steps to suit your child’s age group.
What you need:
Start by printing out our template (located at the end of this tutorial). We recommend coloring the template first.
Cut the strips of paper – we used a paper cutter as it was quicker (perfect for teachers if you are cutting). You can use scissors. We used 4 different colours – 2 strips of each colour (8 strips together).
Fold the paper strips at both ends as shown above.
Glue the strips inside the balloon circle. We start with two red strips. Glue one strip to the template and the next strip at a 90° angle (forming a cross). Continue gluing the next strip in between the “red” strips…. Continue until you have a “dome”.
Now that you have completed your balloon, all that is left is to color the scene. Happy coloring!
