How to Draw a Cupcake – Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Sketching a delicious-looking treat is easy with our step-by-step guide on how to draw cupcakes. This is great for both kids and beginners, it’s easy and rewarding.

How to draw cupcakes step by step

Tutorial on drawing cupcakes step by step

Step 1

Start by drawing the shape for the cupcake liner.

Step 2

Close the opening by drawing a scalloped line.

Step 3

Draw straight lines on the cupcake liner.

Step 4

It’s time to make the frosting. Start from the left side (from the bottom up) and draw a scalloped line (with 3 large lines) going up.

Step 5

Complete it by drawing a curved line.

Step 6

Draw more curves.

Step 7

And a little more.

Step 8

Draw the top of the frosting.

Step 9

And finish things off with another line of seashells.

Step 10

All done! The last thing to do is color your cupcake to make it look even sweeter. If you want a “kawaii” look, add a pair of eyes and a mouth.
