Get out your paint cans and colors of the rainbow because it’s time to do some spring crafts with your kids. Spring is the season of flowers and insects, as well as a few other things, but these two themes seem to be the most popular.
We made a butterfly wind tunnel a while back, so this cute ladybug wind tunnel should join in on the fun too. Make a dozen ladybugs or a mix of different bugs, whatever you do, this one is sure to look great.
What you need:
Start by painting the roll with green paint. If you have a branded roll (one with a logo on it), you may need more than one coat.
Let the paint dry. Once dry, punch two holes in one side of the roll. The holes should be opposite each other.
Thread the yarn through both holes.
Tie the yarn.
Make a ladybug.
Cut out a large black circle and a large red circle. Also cut out a smaller black circle (a hole punch is really helpful here and kids love them).
Glue the small black circle onto the larger circle to make the ladybug’s body.
Draw black dots on the red circle.
Cut the red circle in half to make the wings.
Stick two eyes on the head.
Glue the wings to the ladybug body.
Glue the ladybug to the roll of paper.
Cut long strips of tissue paper and tape them to the toilet paper roll.
Finished. Your handmade Ladybug Windsock toilet paper roll is ready to hang.
