Make Your Own DIY Stamps

We will make some DIY stamps from children’s drawings! This project was heavily inspired by this engraved stamp project but since we didn’t have all the necessary tolls (yes, but lost it, not the first time for me) we I have made some modifications.

Let your children go crazy with their drawings – make sure they use a pen with a wide tip as a small tip will be difficult to engrave.

We used the Styrofoam packaging you usually get with food deliveries (brings back college memories) even though ours was from a vegetable soup package.

Once your child is done drawing, it’s your time to shine! If you have an engraving tool, use it because it will be a lot faster! If you don’t have one, a craft knife will do the trick. First trace the lines around the drawing and then start cutting. For smaller details – like the inside of a pig’s ear, you can simply press it down with a sharp object – such as a pen!
