How about making some colorful origami frogs that can jump? Just follow this simple guide and you’re ready to get started!
This origami project for kids is quite simple to make and kids will have so much fun playing with these once completed!
What you will need
Start by folding the paper diagonally (both diagonals). Unfold and fold in half. Open up.
Next is a bit difficult part for those young people who are about to become origami masters – you have to fold the parts marked with red dots on the picture above towards the middle – place them in the position as shown in the photo above (you there will be a triangle).
Next, fold the corner of the triangle (marked with the blue point) towards the top of the triangle. Do the same with the remaining corner.
You should now have the shape shown on the first image above. Fold the right corner of the newly formed square (marked with a red dot) toward the middle of the square. Do the same with the remaining corner.
Flip the frog. We have a triangle again (sorry, no image of that one). Take the corner of the triangle (marked with the blue dot) and fold it inward as shown in the image above. Do the same with the remaining corner.
Take the position marked with the red dot on the image above and fold it outward. Do the same with the other side. Turn it over – it gradually starts to look like a frog, doesn’t it?
The last part is a bit complicated but if you want to make your frog jump it’s a must. You will have to fold the frog’s back twice into the positions indicated by the blue and red lines.
Place the frog as shown in the 4th picture (above) and fold it backwards along the red line (you can use your own ruler or credit card, etc). It should now look like a number 4 (and a number 5 if you flip it over). Now fold the frog along the blue line (fold forward).
All done!
To make these frogs even cuter, remember to stick some goofy eyes and stick your tongue in their mouths! If you press on the back of the frog, they will jump!
With thousands of crafts, activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and drawing guides to print, you’ll always have the resources you need at hand. Perfect for both parents and teachers!
