Fall brings an abundance of one of the most wonderful craft materials: leaves! Today we’re making a leaf beetle paint craft, a fun and creative project that the kids will absolutely love.
You can do this project any time of year, but fall is best because the leaves are dry and ready to be painted (or just further preserved).

Fall is the season when insects are still rampant so this makes for a great project.
How to make crafts with paint from leaf beetles
What you need:
- handmade paper
- leaves (dried leaves are best, but you can also use fresh leaves)
- hand painted
- paintbrush
- sharp eyes
- black marker
Step-by-step instructions
You can simply paint the leaves to look like bugs, but this project will look even better if you work with background paper or cardstock.
Collect oval leaves for best results in creating leaf beetles and beetles.
Paint the leaf and let the paint dry.
Paint the top of the leaf black to create the bug’s head.
Draw a line along the center of the leaf and if creating a ladybug shape, add some black dots.
Let the paint dry again.
Stick the leaf onto the paper with glue.
Have your child draw more leaves in different colors and stick them next to the first ladybug.
Use a black marker to draw the beard.
And legs.
Draw them for the remaining bugs and beetles.
Stick on googly eyes to make your leaf beetles come to life.
All done!
What a delightful bunch of silly bugs.
We bet your kids will want to earn even more money.
Wishing you successful manufacturing!
