This paper ball garland craft is perfect for decorating for Christmas and would also look adorable at any birthday party (any time of year).
Honestly, making this wreath is pretty addictive, I could make these balls all day long!
Simple paper wreaths (and paper chains, I love that) make the prettiest decorations if you ask me and they’re so frugal! You can make a wreath like we did or even turn them into tree ornaments!
How to make paper ball wreath
What you need
- paper of different colors
- scissors or cutting tool
- glue
Cut the paper into small strips. The length and width of the strips are entirely up to you – the longer the strips, the bigger the balloon.
I cut across the width of the paper – into strips about half an inch / 1 cm wide.
Gently fold the paper strips in half, creating a crease in the middle.
Add a little glue to the middle and glue another strip of paper to form a cross. Add two more strips (if your strip is longer, you may need to add a few more).
Now fold them towards the top and glue them on top to form a ball shape.
Make as many as you want and thread them onto yarn.
You can get even more creative and decorate them with little glitter gems or use Christmas lights instead of yarn to string them (just make sure they’re LED so they don’t get hot).
You can change it up to suit any occasion – use all pink for a princess party (or white and blue if you like Frozen), red and black for a ladybug party, yellow and black for a bumblebee party… The sky’s the limit!
