As the card comes to life, kids will love seeing their imaginative drawings transform a simple piece of paper into a fun holiday design. From painting a snowy backdrop to adding a fun Christmas hat to the tree, every step allows you to express your creativity.

This activity also provides a great opportunity to strengthen fine motor skills while enjoying the spirit of the season. Whether a gift for a friend or family member, this card is sure to bring a smile to the recipient’s face.

How to make paper Christmas tree cards

What you need:

  • pencil
  • drag
  • glue
  • construction paper (blue, green, red, brown and white)
  • hand painted (white)
  • paintbrush

Step-by-step instructions

Ask your child to fold a piece of blue construction paper in half to make a card (other colors are fine, but we think blue and black work best for this card).

Have them paint the bottom of the card with white paint to create a snowy landscape.

They can add swirls, textures or patterns to make it unique.

Let it dry while you move on to the next step.

Prepare green construction paper for the Christmas tree.

Cut out a simple Christmas tree shape.

Paste the tree image on the card.

Cut a small stem and stick it under the tree.

It’s time for the tree to be filled with Christmas.

Take a smaller piece of red construction paper.

Cut a small triangle for a Christmas hat, then stick it on the top of the tree, making it festive and fun.

Cut and glue a small white circle for the top of the hat and a longer oval for the brim. You can also let your child use cotton balls here.

It’s time to paint some snowflakes!

Have children draw or dab white dots on the background to resemble falling snowflakes. Use a paintbrush to do this or better yet, let the kids take their fingerprints.

All done!

If you want to give this craft a fun angle, why not add a goofy eye and draw a mouth for the tree.

Children can sign the card and give it to someone special.

Have fun, get messy and enjoy the memories together!

Wishing you successful manufacturing!
