Give kids an easy craft like this simple paper Christmas tree to make on a cold winter day to keep them busy and encourage creativity, you’ll also have a cute piece of art to display!
DIY Christmas tree with wallpaper
What you need:
- 8 ½” x 11” white cardstock
- patterned paper/cardboard
- glue
- drag
Step by step instructions
You can use cardboard or any colored paper you have available, gift wrapping paper will also look nice.
I dug through my scrapbooking stash to find some colorful cardstock for this Christmas and I love the added texture these patterns bring.
If you like this style, you can buy them at arts and crafts stores for cheap and often on sale.
Using scissors or a paper cutter, cut the paper into ½-inch wide strips, then cut into various lengths from 2 inches to the longest piece no longer than 8 inches.
Cut a simple star shape from yellow paper and a brown stem, glue the stem to the bottom of a white piece of cardboard, you can use regular printer paper but cardboard is much more durable.
Give your child a glue stick…
…and instruct children how to arrange the strips from the trunk up in order from largest to smallest (or let them be creative, crooked trees are fine too).
Glue a yellow paper star to the top of the tree and your simple, cute kids Christmas tree is ready to display!
Join the kids in a craft session.
