How to make snails with paper plates

What you need:

  • paper plate
  • paint (two or more)
  • drag
  • glue
  • construction paper for the tentacles (optional) – you can use scraps of paper
  • black marker
  • googly eye sticker or googly eyes (optional)
  • paintbrush

Step-by-step instructions

You only need a paper plate to make a snail, this is an inexpensive project.

Let’s paint the paper plate. You will need two different colors and paint the outer edge of the sheet with a…

…and the circle inside is a different color.

Let the paint dry. Once dry, cut along the inside circle to create a snail shape. Kids can round their heads, but there’s nothing wrong with a straight cut here.

Add a pair of googly eye stickers (or googly eyes) or just draw a pair of eyes with a black marker.

Cut a pair of tentacles from paper plates or dice or leftover construction paper.

Apply glue to the tentacles and them to the head.

Next, use a thick black marker to draw a spiral in the shell. Start from the center and move outward or in the other direction, whichever feels more natural to you.

Complete your snail-shaped paper plate creation by drawing a smile on the snail’s face.

This is very suitable for the classroom, we can imagine a colony of snails (this is the name of the snail group) with many different colors to decorate your classroom wall.

We look forward to sharing more exciting and exciting projects with you soon!
