Paper Rosette Hedgehog

Time for another hedgehog craft idea! This time we are going to make a paper rosette hedgehog craft (half rosette) and it really couldn’t be cuter.

Perfect to make at home or use as a classroom project or decoration! You can also make the entire rosette!*This article contains affiliate links*

Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Not too cold and not too warm… And hedgehogs!

I’m a bit obsessed (a healthy obsession, watching them from a distance and leaving them alone) with hedgehogs and of course this has led to me being a bit obsessed with hedgehog crafts (if you browse the site you’ll see quite a few hedgehog craft ideas for kids and the young at heart).

This one is adorable on its own but you can make it even cuter by adding a paper apple or a pear to its back (not that they really care about lying on their back but you know, cute).

Ready to make one or ten? Let’s do it! This is a super simple paper craft for kids.

How to make a hedgehog with paper

What you need:

  • brown craft paper (letter size / A4 size)
  • beige construction paper
  • black marker
  • glue
  • drag

Optional: red cardboard for apple, green cardboard for pear…

Cut the paper in half.

Begin folding accordion style from one end to the other.

When you fold to the other side, fold it in half again.

Emphasize.

Stick together.

Press firmly so the glue really sets.

Turn on the fan :).

You may need to re-glue the last fold.

Cut a half circle from beige paper.

Draw the details on the face.

Apply a sufficient amount of glue to the back.

Press the asterisk half. Let the glue set.

Cut legs from beige paper and glue them to the bottom of the rosette.

Allow the glue to dry. This will make it easier for your Rosette Paper Hedgehog to stand on its own.

Isn’t this baby cute? What a great fall themed paper craft for kids!
