If you’re working on the life cycle of a frog, this is a fun craft to include. You can combine it with our frog life cycle agamograph, as well as our how to draw a frog tutorial.

This is a fun classroom craft, make lots of these and use them as decorations on your spring bulletin board.

How to make paper frog crafts

What you need:

  • Blue and red cardboard
  • Googly eyes
  • glue
  • Drag
  • Small cup

Step by step instructions

Start by drawing a cup shape onto green cardboard and cutting it out with scissors.

Cut 8 strips of green cardstock approximately 1/2”x8”.

Fold the edges of the green strip in about 3/4” on both sides.

Glue the bottom of each end to opposite sides of the circle – forming an arc across the circle.

Continue gluing each piece of paper to the previous one until you have used all 8 pieces, creating a paper dome.

Let’s make the eyes. Cut out two taller ovals, fold the flat side down, glue a bulging eye to the front of each oval, and glue the folded edge to the frog’s head.

You can use eye stickers instead or draw eyes on white paper with a black marker and stick them on.

Cut four legs and glue one leg to each bottom corner of the frog.

Cut a thin 3 inch red oval in half, bend the flat side and glue to the frog’s body.

You can also cut a large water lily leaf from darker green cardstock and place the frog on top.

Happy crafting!
